Mayta, The Brown Bear

A place for me to share others content that work for us as a family and to share what I have been producing myself.

First, I want to introduce you to the video that set the guidelines of screen time for my kid. The basic principles are 1) scenes last longer than 3 seconds; 2) they look as close as possible to the real world; 3) they look as close as possible to Mr Rogers' Neighborhood (even though my kid is not very interested in that).

That said, our favorite Youtube Channels for my 4-year old are:

Mayta the Brown Bear is a handcrafted, early learning show made by parents for preschoolers. Join Mayta, B and their best friends in a mindful, magical world filled with kindness and curiosity - where everyone can learn, laugh, and dance their feelings out! Our videos use slow moving images, crafts, handcrafted sets, puppets and active storytelling to help kids learn to use their own imaginations. We slow things down a bit so our little viewers have time to process what they are watching on the screen. We really wanted to create a space that is small, simple and consistent. A space where our little viewers can feel safe and secure because they know what is going to happen next. A space where they can really listen and ultimately be engaged.
